“Roberts Rankings”-Football

Here are my Berks County high school football rankings. Remember that no matter where your favorite team is ranked, the sun will come out tomorrow! And then there were two. Exeter and Wyomissing are the last two Berks County schools left standing in the postseason. The Eagles face District 7 champ Penn-Trafford in the Class 5A state semifinals at Bald Eagle High School. The Spartans battle District 12 champion Neumann-Goretti in the 3A semi’s at Pennridge High School. Both of those matchups are at 7pm on Friday. English monk and poet John Lydgate wrote, “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.” That famous quote pertains to my new poll. Exeter jumps up from #3 to #1 after the biggest win in program history. The Eagles handed Gov. Mifflin its first loss 31-28 in the District 3-5A Final. PSU commit Nick Singleton finished his amazing career with 6,326 rushing yards and 116 touchdowns, both are Berks County records. Wyomissing remains undefeated, but the Spartans drop one spot to #3. Let the debate begin!

1. Exeter (10-3)

2. Gov. Mifflin (10-1)

3. Wyomissing (14-0)

4. Wilson (9-4)

5. Berks Catholic (7-5)

6. Conrad Weiser (7-4)

7. Twin Valley (6-5)

8. Daniel Boone (5-4)
