The (6-0) Raiders scored all of their points in the first half at Elverson. Maverik Foster ran for 173 yards and four touchdowns on ten carries. Foster broke free for a 98-yard TD in the second quarter. His younger brother, Gavan, was 6-of-8 for 105 yards and a 13-yard touchdown pass to Brody Majeski. Lucas Myers chipped in with 58 yards on six carries. Twin Valley outgained Fleetwood 389-to-122. Beau Fegely had 53 yards on 16 carries for the (3-3) Tigers.
Exeter-30, Elizabethtown-27
The Eagles were down, but not out. They trailed 13-10 at halftime and 27-10 in the third quarter. The Reinert brothers and Aidan Gerhart helped to bring Exeter back. Gerhart connected with Braylon Reinert for a 17-yard TD pass in the third quarter. Cayden Reinert, a 6’4 sophomore tight end, hauled in a 70-yard touchdown pass that brought the Eagles within 27-24 with 3:26 left. Exeter’s defense forced the (4-2) Bears to punt on the ensuing possession. Josh Jackson provided a go-ahead 6-yard TD run with 52 seconds remaining. The Eagles improved to (5-1).
Gov. Mifflin-71, Lebanon-14
Sophomore Jack Miller set a school record with five touchdown passes. He was 6-of-7 for 159 yards. The Mustangs earned their first victory of the season. They host Elizabethtown next Friday night. The Cedars have lost 58 consecutive games, a PIAA record.
Wyomissing-41, Donegal-6
The (3-2) Spartans used some big plays to pull away from the (3-3) Indians. Brady Eisenhower tossed a 45-yard touchdown pass to Andrew DiFabrizio with 31 seconds to go in the opening half. Eisenhower ripped off a 65-yard TD run to make it 28-6 two minutes into the third quarter. The junior quarterback was 4-of-4 for 69 yards. Zander Westwood rumbled for 79 yards on eleven carries. Sophomore Nehzion Carter added 72 yards and a pair of touchdowns on nine touches. Bert Rivera made ten combined tackles as Wyomissing won its third game in a row.
Conrad Weiser-35, Northern Lebanon-20
The Scouts were behind 7-6 after the first quarter, but took a 20-13 lead into the locker room. Kole Kupper was a workhorse for Conrad Weiser with 32 carries for 134 yards and 2 TD. Connor Sellars used his legs to the tune of 129 yards on 19 carries. The senior quarterback ran for two scores and threw a 33-yard touchdown pass to Chase Matthews. Sellars ended up 6-of-7 for 76 yards through the air for the (5-1) Scouts. The Vikings fell to (4-2).
Schuylkill Valley-31, Pequea Valley-14
After losing its season opener at Conrad Weiser, the Panthers have bounced back with five straight wins. Alex Aletras was 10-of-16 for 119 yards and an 8-yard touchdown toss to Seth Klinikowski. Aletras ran for 62 yards and two more scores. Schuylkill Valley’s defense and special teams contributed as well. Anthony Batista came up with a 36-yard pick 6. Reese Wamsher booted a 42-yard field goal. The Braves have dropped two in a row after their first (4-0) start in program history.
Hamburg-32, Lancaster Catholic-27
The (4-2) Hawks went to Blaise Ernst early and often. The 5’9, 175-pound senior delivered with 201 yards and 2 TD on 29 carries. He raced 63 yards to the house just 45 seconds into the game. The (4-2) Crusaders trailed 22-14 at halftime. Isaac McFadden was 10-of-17 for 130 yards. The 6’1 sophomore also ran for two scores. Alex Soto caught four passes for 63 yards. Sophomore kicker Aron Moser nailed a 30-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.
