The Scouts used a big second half to improve to (3-0). They trailed 20-15 at halftime on Thursday night. Kole Kupper set a school record with six touchdowns. The 6’, 185-pound junior piled up 261 yards on 17 carries. Conrad Weiser gained 390 yards on the ground while averaging 12.6 yards per carry. Junior linebacker Brennon Bond had a team-high nine tackles. Donte Wilkins added eight tackles and a sack. Lincoln Harting, a 235-pound junior defensive end, provided a pair of sacks.
Kutztown-47, Camp Hill-12
The Cougars earned the 100th victory in program history on Friday. They ran the ball 45 times for 506 yards. Ryan Walters had a huge night with 328 yards and 5 TD on 18 carries. His 87-yard score got things started for Kutztown. Hunter Amato chipped in with 59 yards and a score on nine touches. The (1-2) Cougars held Camp Hill to 233 total yards.
Hempfield-50, Gov. Mifflin-13
The (0-3) Mustangs were on top 13-12 when Koen German ripped off an 80-yard kickoff return touchdown for the (2-1) Black Knights. Landon Charles connected with Donte Lewis for a 36-yard touchdown pass at the end of the first half. Charles was 11-of-14 for 210 yards and 2 TD. Lewis racked up 136 yards on five catches and two touchdowns. Ramel Lyles rumbled for 81 yards on eight carries. He reached the end zone twice. Gov. Mifflin was outscored 22-0 in the second half.
Hamburg-56, Daniel Boone-20
The (2-1) Hawks built a 42-7 cushion on a night when they honored military members and first responders. Sophomore Isaac McFadden went 13-of-18 for 210 yards and 4 TD. Eli Metzler, a 5’11 junior receiver, had 90 yards and 2 TD on 3 catches. Owen Bentz made five receptions for 71 yards and a score. Alex Soto added four catches for 56 yards and a touchdown. The (1-2) Blazers were limited to 167 total yards.
Fleetwood-28, ELCO-14
The (2-1) Tigers outscored the (1-2) Raiders 15-0 in the second half. Chase Adams ran for two touchdowns and threw for another. The 6’1, 195-pound senior was 9-of-20 through the air for 170 yards. He found sophomore Hunter Fegely for a 73-yard TD pass. Hunter’s older brother, Beau, ran for 67 yards and a score on 13 carries. Parker Detwiler led Fleetwood’s defense with 5.5 tackles, 2 TFL, and a fumble recovery. ELCO managed just 220 total yards.
Schuylkill Valley-38, Newport-7
Alex Aletras threw four touchdown passes and used his legs for another score. The 6’2, 185-pound senior finished 17-of-24 for 206 yards on Friday in Leesport. Sophomore Will Johns made a team-high nine receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown. Alexander Gehret provided five catches for 75 yards and a score. The Panthers moved to (2-1), while the Buffaloes dropped to (1-2).
