Wyomissing used a big second half to beat Danville 48-27 in the PIAA-3A quarterfinals at Albright College. The (12-1) Spartans will face Northwestern Lehigh next week. The Ironmen finish with a record of (12-2).
#2 seed Harrisburg won at #1 Manheim Township 34-28 in overtime in the District 3-6A championship. The (12-1) Cougars trailed 28-7 in the third quarter. Harrisburg claimed its third straight District 3 title and sixth overall. The Blue Streaks suffered their first loss of the season.
#3 seed Cocalico defeated #5 Ephrata 23-9 in the District 3-5A championship. The (12-1) Eagles go back-to-back. It’s their fifth District 3 title in school history. The (12-2) Mounts made just their second appearance in the District 3 tournament this year.
#1 seed Bishop McDevitt rallied past #3 Manheim Central 23-17 in the District 3-4A championship. The (11-2) Barons led 17-8 at halftime. The (13-0) Crusaders have won 26 consecutive games. This is their third straight District 3 title and 17th overall. Only Manheim Central has more trophies with 18.
