#9 seed Exeter lost to #8 Hershey 28-27 in the first round of the District 3-5A playoffs at Hersheypark Stadium. The Eagles led 21-0 at halftime. The (8-3) Trojans will visit top-seeded New Oxford in the quarterfinals. Exeter finishes (8-3) after winning its first eight games.
#4 seed Schuylkill Valley beat #5 Littlestown 45-21 in the District 3-3A quarterfinals at Leesport. The (9-2) Panthers get their second victory all-time in the District 3 tournament and first since 2012. The (8-3) Thunderbolts had won five in a row. Schuylkill Valley travels to #1 Wyomissing next Saturday.
Gov. Mifflin fell at home to Pleasant Valley 28-19 in the Eastern Conference 5A/6A championship. The Mustangs end up (5-6).
Fleetwood rallied to top Shamokin 42-41 in overtime in the Eastern Conference 4A final. Jack Riffle passed for more than 400 yards and 3TD. The visiting (6-5) Tigers outscored Shamokin 21-0 in the fourth quarter. The teams combined for over 1,200 yards!
Berks Catholic defeated Hamburg 40-21 in the Eastern Conference 3A championship on Hawk Hill. The (5-6) Saints outscored the (6-5) Hawks 23-0 in the second half. Michael Bradley and Connor Pennington each had a pair of touchdown runs.
