Tigers’ head coach Steve Beatty says he can sleep easy at night because he has Tanner Maddocks at quarterback. The 6’1, 175-pound senior can beat you with his arm or his legs. Maddocks has rushed for over 100 yards in each of Fleetwood’s first two games. He threw for 232 yards in the season opener at West Chester Henderson. Maddocks elaborated on why he committed to Villanova. His brothers, Charlie and Owen, were terrific players at Fleetwood. Charlie was the first team QB in Section 2 of the Berks Football League in 2019. Owen was a second team WR and LB in Section 2 last year. Tanner told me how much his family has meant to his success. Oh, there’s another member of the Maddocks’ family on the roster this season. Brate is a freshman DB.
