Here are my Berks County high school football rankings. Remember that no matter where your favorite team is ranked, the sun will come out tomorrow! Undefeated Gov. Mifflin travels to Reiffton this Friday for a huge Section 1 matchup in the Berks Football League! The Mustangs are well rested. Their homecoming game on Saturday was canceled due to a Covid-19 related issue at Reading. Gov. Mifflin has won 63 of its last 65 league games. Exeter has dropped 14 of the last 15 meetings with the Mustangs. The Eagles beat Mifflin 35-21 in 2015. Michal Menet, who went on to become a captain at Penn State, was a senior at Exeter that season. Wyomissing moves up one spot to #2 in my poll after a very impressive 41-21 victory at Southern Columbia. The Tigers’ streak of 65 consecutive wins came to an end. The Spartans visit Twin Valley this week. The Raiders fell two spots in my rankings after a 26-9 loss at Fleetwood on Saturday night. Wilson can get over the .500 mark by knocking off McCaskey on Friday in West Lawn. Berks Catholic looked sharp in a 40-7 rout at Daniel Boone. The Saints march into Shirk Stadium on Friday to square off with the Red Knights. Conrad Weiser goes north to face (5-1) Hamburg this week. The Scouts and Hawks combined for 99 points last Friday.
