Here are my Berks County high school football rankings. The weather forecast looks terrific for Friday and Saturday. Hopefully, we won’t have any more lightning delays this season! Remember that no matter where your favorite team is ranked, the sun will come out tomorrow.
Wyomissing passed a tough test at Trinity with a thrilling 35-34 victory. The Spartans are looking for win #450 in program history this Saturday afternoon. They face Berks Catholic in the “Backyard Brawl.” The all-time series between these rivals is even at (6-6). Wilson avoided its first (0-3) start since 1965 by beating Cheltenham 40-26. The Bulldogs meet Reading this Friday in West Lawn. The (1-2) Red Knights dropped out of my poll this week. Exeter squares off with Gov. Mifflin at Don Thomas Stadium. The Mustangs have won 15 of the last 18 in this matchup. However, the Eagles have taken two of the past three games from the squad from Shillington.
Unbeaten Twin Valley battles (2-1) Fleetwood in Elverson on Friday. Meanwhile, Bruce Harbach goes for his 150th victory as a head coach. Schuylkill Valley travels to (1-2) Kutztown. The Panthers moved up one spot in my new rankings. Hamburg jumps into the poll at #8. The undefeated Hawks take on (1-2) Annville-Cleona this week on “Hawk Hill.”
