Here are my Berks County high school football rankings. Remember that no matter where your favorite team is ranked, the sun will come out tomorrow! It was a terrific regular season in Berks County. Twelve local teams are headed to the postseason. Nine qualified for the District 3 playoffs and three will be playing in the Eastern Conference Finals (Fleetwood, Boyertown, and Schuylkill Valley). Congratulations to Gov. Mifflin, Wyomissing, and Wilson for winning their respective Section championships outright. The Mustangs earned the Section 1 title in the Berks Football League for the 13th time in the last 16 years. They’ve won 66 of their last 68 league games! PSU commit Nick Singleton has 104 career TD’s and 5,769 rushing yards. Those numbers will likely never be eclipsed. Wyomissing captured its 13th Section championship with a dominant performance vs. Conrad Weiser. The Spartans have won seven league titles, nine District 3 championships, and the 2012 state final. Wilson brought home its record 28th Section 1 title in the Lancaster-Lebanon League. The Bulldogs winning streak is up to five after a (2-3) start. Twin Valley senior Trey Freeman became the all-time leader in receiving yards in Berks County. The 5’7, 160-pounder is up to 2,216 yards. Freeman piled up 123 yards on six catches in a 31-28 loss at Gettysburg on Saturday night. The Raiders are making their first appearance in the District 3 playoffs. Daniel Boone has reached District’s for the first time since 2014. The Blazers were unable to play their last two games after several players tested positive for Covid-19.
