I’m told that Rich Miller will be approved this month as the new boys basketball head coach at Conrad Weiser High School. Miller has been the head coach at Penn State Berks since 2018. He’s also the Nittany Lions men’s golf coach. Miller served as the head basketball coach at Mansfield University from 2006-2016. He was named the PSAC East Coach of the Year in 2011 when the Mounties reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 14 years. Miller guided Mansfield to the PSAC playoffs five times and finished with a record of (130-139). Miller was a standout basketball, football, and baseball player at Lower Dauphin High School. He went on to Bucknell where he was a four-year starter on the football team as a kicker and punter, earning All-Patriot League honors. Miller began his coaching career as an assistant at Lower Dauphin in 1996. He was hired as an assistant basketball coach at Mansfield University in 1999. Miller lives in the Conrad Weiser School District and is scheduled to be officially approved on October 20th. He takes over for Billy Harrison who remains the athletic director at Conrad Weiser. Harrison was (65-49) over five years as the Scouts’ head coach. They advanced to the Berks County semifinals and the District 3 playoffs last season.
