L-L Football Section Championship Breakdown

We’ve reached the final Friday night of the regular season in the Lancaster-Lebanon Football League. The competition has been stiff on the gridiron. Manheim Township is still undefeated and ranked #4 in the state in Class 6A by PennLive. Eleven other teams in the L-L League enter this evening with eight victories. That’s right, eleven! Here’s a quick look at the standings in all five sections. Section championships are on the line tonight!

Section 1: Manheim Township faces Wilson at John Gurski Stadium. This scenario is very simple. The winner is the outright champion. Both teams are (5-0) in league play.

Section 2: Manheim Central takes on Exeter at Don Thomas Stadium. If the Barons win, they’re the outright champions. If Exeter and Conestoga Valley win tonight, there’s a three-way tie for first place. CV is at (1-8) Muhlenberg.

Section 3: Twin Valley has already earned a share of the title with a (5-1) league mark. The Raiders host Hatboro-Horsham in a non-league contest tonight. If Ephrata and Garden Spot win, there’s a three-way tie for the championship. Ephrata is home against (2-7) Elizabethtown. Garden Spot entertains (3-6) Solanco.

Section 4: Cocalico can wrap up the title with a victory at (2-7) Conrad Weiser. The (8-1, 6-0) Eagles are ranked #5 in the state in Class 5A. Wyomissing visits Lampeter-Strasburg in a likely matchup for second place. They’re both (5-1) in the league.

Section 5: Schuylkill Valley can lock up an outright championship with a win at (8-1, 5-1) Lancaster Catholic. The Panthers are riding an 8-game winning streak. They have a (6-0) league record. If Schuylkill Valley lost, Annville-Cleona could also get a share of the title. The (6-3, 5-1) Dutchmen are at (4-5) Northern Lebanon.
