Sophomore Gavan Foster was an efficient 9-of-13 for 122 yards and 2 TD as the Raiders improved to (4-0). They were in front 19-0 at halftime. Foster threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Brody Majeski. Tight end Jayce Oliver had three receptions for 32 yards and a 5-yard score. Maverik Foster, Gavan’s older brother, had a pair of rushing touchdowns. Lucas Myers finished with 100 yards and a score on 16 carries. The Villanova commit contributed on defense as well with five tackles and an interception. Joey Buckley, a 275-pound defensive tackle, had a handful of solo tackles and a sack. The Barons dropped to (2-2).
Conestoga Valley-35, Gov. Mifflin-12
The (4-0) Buckskins built a 28-6 halftime advantage in Shillington. They sealed the deal with 6:46 remaining when Camryn Bair found Jayden Conaway for a 58-yard TD pass. Pat Steuer had a busy night for the (0-4) Mustangs. He ran the rock 33 times for 115 yards and two touchdowns.
Daniel Boone-34, Octorara-28
Dominic Stoudt was a workhorse for the (2-2) Blazers. The senior quarterback piled up 198 yards and 3 TD on 35 carries. Stoudt went 3-of-4 through the air for 86 yards. He connected with George Harp on a 44-yard touchdown toss. Sophomore Mason Murphy chipped in with 82 yards and a score on eight carries. The Braves remain winless.
ELCO-21, Conrad Weiser-12
The (3-1) Scouts suffered their first loss of the season. Gavin Yeiser ran for 117 yards and 2 TD for the (2-2) Raiders. They were on top 14-6 at halftime in Robesonia. Darryl Legrande returned Kole Kupper’s fumble 68 yards for a touchdown. Kupper ended up with 71 yards on 16 carries. He set a school record with six touchdowns last week. Connor Sellars pulled Conrad Weiser within 21-12 with a 9-yard TD run in the fourth quarter. Sellars had 91 yards rushing and 83 yards passing. He was 10-for-19 with an 8-yard TD pass to Brayden Hopple in the second quarter.
Garden Spot-52, Fleetwood-14
The (2-2) Tigers were outscored 46-0 in the second half. They couldn’t overcome their mistakes, including four turnovers. Chase Adams threw three interceptions and all of them were returned for touchdowns by the (2-2) Spartans. Adams finished 6-of-18 for 76 yards. He ran 15 times for 53 yards. Beau Fegely had 60 yards and a touchdown on eleven carries. Sophomore Trey McKinney made two catches for 61 yards and a score.
Schuylkill Valley-45, Columbia-34
Will Johns had a monster game for the (3-1) Panthers. The sophomore caught 8 passes for 161 yards and 2 TD. Johns also took a kickoff 79 yards to the house. Alex Aletras was 19-of-31 for 271 yards and 3 TD. Columbia is without star quarterback Cameron McClair. He suffered an injury a week ago. The (2-2) Crimson Tide committed nine turnovers in Leesport. Ervin Ortiz and Anthony Batista each returned an interception for a touchdown.
Pequea Valley-30, Kutztown-8
The Braves are (4-0) for the first time in program history. They held the (1-3) Cougars to 190 total yards. Kutztown was limited to 165 yards on 50 rushing attempts. Ryan Walters had a team-high 97 yards on 22 carries. Levi Martin scored the Cougars’ lone touchdown. They turned the ball over three times.
Berks Catholic-38, Hamburg-7
Coy Koller broke free for a 68-yard TD run to open the floodgates for the (1-3) Saints. The 180-pound junior ran for 120 yards and 2 TD on 10 carries. Berks Catholic outgained the (2-2) Hawks 305-to-86 yards on the ground. Hamburg trailed 31-0 at halftime. Faith Zudie made his presence felt on both sides of the ball. He provided 53 yards, including a 28-yard touchdown, on just three carries. The 6’3, 210-pound defensive end also made eight tackles and a sack. Ryan Spatz ran it seven times for 73 yards. Owen Bentz got the Hawks on the board with a 17-yard TD run in the fourth quarter. He added five receptions for 40 yards. Sophomore quarterback Isaac McFadden went 19-of-29 for 176 yards.
