Christian Cacchione definitely knows how to find his way to the end zone. The 175-pound senior is tied for fourth in Berks County with 17 touchdowns. He’s two yards shy of 1,000 on the ground and is averaging 22 yards per catch. Cacchione is also a dangerous kick returner. He has taken two punts and one kickoff to the house this season. I asked him which TD was his favorite. Cacchione said he likes making big hits in addition to scoring. The free safety is second on the team in tackles with 49. Cacchione is expecting the Forino Sports Complex to be rocking when the Saints take on Nick Singleton and the undefeated Gov. Mifflin Mustangs on Friday. Singleton has a county record 101 career TD’s. He’s headed to Penn State. Cacchione believes that Berks Catholic’s schedule has helped them against bigger, physical teams. He also knows how important the offensive line is to his success. Cacchione is averaging 7.6 yards per carry. The Saints are (6-3) overall and (3-1) in Section 1 of the Berks Football League.
