Berks Sports Report has learned that Berks Catholic junior Jeremiah Camara is eligible for all postseason games. A District 3 committee made that ruling and informed Berks Catholic this morning. Camara transferred from Reading High School where he played basketball and football. His father, Francis Camara, was the head coach of the Red Knights’ varsity boys basketball team for the past two seasons. He was informed last month that his coaching position was being opened. Reading went (13-12) during the 2024-25 campaign. The Red Knights reached the BCIAA Championship Game, but didn’t qualify for the District 3 playoffs.
Jeremiah Camara led Reading in scoring as a sophomore at 14 points per game. The 5’8, 175-pound guard was voted to the All-Division team. Camara hasn’t yet played in a football game for Berks Catholic, but that could change tomorrow night. Camara had to sit out for 21 days because he transferred at the beginning of the school year. The halfback and defensive back can return to the gridiron on Friday when the (1-2) Saints visit Pequea Valley.
