Electric. One word sums up Wilson’s Cam Jones. The 5’11, 165-pound junior is averaging an incredible 36.6 yards on punt returns and 42.3 yards on kickoff returns! Jones has four combined kick return touchdowns. He told me, “I feel like all of them are going to the house.” The Bulldogs’ success on special teams isn’t an accident. Pay attention to what Jones says about how much time they spend on special teams at practice. Jones got an invitation to the Virginia Tech game this weekend. I asked him what it feels like to get attention from a Division I college, and what he needs to improve on to compete at that level. Jones is averaging 7.5 yards on his 13 carries this season. He’s glad to have older brother Jadyn back in the lineup at running back and linebacker. Cam knows that the Bulldogs need to be ready for Cedar Crest MLB/RB Aadyn Richards on Friday. Richards had a “Pick 6” in their 20-13 win over Hempfield last week.
