Bob Wolfrum-Wyomissing

The Spartans improved to a perfect (10-0) with an impressive 45-7 victory over Conrad Weiser. Bob Wolfrum told me about a formation that he likes to use against 5-man fronts. Wyomissing ran for 311 yards on Saturday at the A-Field. Tommy Grabowski rumbled for 112 yards and 3TD. Wolfrum said Grabowski is a versatile fullback and smart linebacker. Ben Zechman finished 4-6 for 60 yards and a TD. Wolfrum is very pleased with how the 6’3 junior quarterback is running the offense. We also discussed the rare athleticism of junior OL Jven Williams who is 6’4 and 310 pounds. Williams has offers from several Division I schools including Penn State, Michigan, Tennessee, and Ole Miss. Plus, Wolfrum elaborated on how the Berks Football League has changed over the years and why he’s happy to be merging with the Lancaster-Lebanon League next season. Wolfrum is (332-85-1) over 35 years at Wyomissing. He’s second in career wins among active head football coaches in Pennsylvania.
