Berks Catholic names Dave Stahler new football coach

Berks Catholic announced this morning that Dave Stahler has been hired as its new head football coach. He takes over for Rick Keeley who stepped down after winning four District 3 championships with the Saints. Keeley finished (118-41) over 13 seasons at Berks Catholic.

Stahler is a 1988 Holy Name graduate who played football, basketball, and baseball for the Blue Jays. After graduating from Kutztown University, Stahler returned to Holy Name in 2001 as an assistant football coach. He was elevated to Associate Head Coach at Berks Catholic in 2012. Stahler became the Saints’ offensive coordinator in 2014.

Stahler is excited about his new role at Berks Catholic. “I feel truly blessed to get to work with such great young men. I am a Saint to the core, and I look forward to working with outstanding coaches and a supportive administration,” he said. “We are excited for Coach Stahler to begin as Head Coach. He is an organized, passionate and dedicated teacher, coach and mentor. We look forward to many years of success under his leadership,” stated athletic director Bill Hess.
