Andre Doyle Resigns

Reading High is looking for a new head football coach. Andre Doyle stepped down after four seasons. Doyle went (8-26) with the Red Knights. Reading won just one game in his first season at the helm, but the Red Knights bounced back in 2019. They opened the year with a four-game winning streak and finished (6-5). Reading reached the Eastern Conference Class 5A/6A championship game. The Red Knights lost to Lebanon 36-14. Due to Covid-19, Reading didn’t play football in the fall of 2020. The Red Knights did have an abbreviated season in the spring. They were winless in five games against teams from Philadelphia and its suburbs. Reading was (1-7) this past season. After a 42-22 victory over Lebanon in early September, the Red Knights lost their last six games.

Doyle was a standout football player at Bishop McDevitt. He was selected for the Big 33 Football Classic. Doyle took over the Reading High program when Rob Flowers resigned after seven seasons. Flowers has been the head coach at Daniel Boone for the past four years.
