Have you ever played the “Where are they now” game? Well, if you’re a Berks County high school baseball fan and you’re wondering what ever happened to A.J. Alexy, the answer is he’s in the major leagues. The 6’4 righty will make his MLB debut on Monday for the Texas Rangers! The 23-year-old Twin Valley graduate has had an excellent season in the minor leagues. Alexy had a 1.61ERA in 13 games with AA Frisco. He allowed just 30 hits in 50 innings with 57 strikeouts. Alexy made three starts for AAA Round Rock and posted a 1.84ERA. He struck out 19 in 14.2 innings. Opponents are hitting .175 off of Alexy this year. The Rangers host the Rockies at 8:05pm on Monday. Twin Valley athletic director John Guiseppe told me, “I’m very excited for A.J. He has worked very hard over the years to get to this point. This is exciting for the Twin Valley community as it shows that you can accomplish anything as long as you work hard and never give up. I wish A.J. the best of luck in his debut.” Alexy was an 11th round draft pick by the Dodgers in 2016.
