District 3 Football Rankings

We have reached the final week of the high school football regular season. That means the District 3 playoffs are right around the corner. It looks like seven teams from Berks County will advance into the District 3 tournament. Gov. Mifflin has to knock off Ephrata on Friday in Shillington to have a chance of qualifying. That won’t be easy, especially considering that quarterback Lebron Leaf isn’t expected to play due to a shoulder injury. I’m told that Leaf should be fine for the upcoming basketball season. The Mustangs are also hoping that Red Lion can upset Dallastown tomorrow night. Schuylkill Valley is holding on to the final spot in Class 3A. The Panthers have a power rating of .516, while Biglerville sits at .419. Schuylkill Valley travels to Lancaster Catholic on Friday as Bruce Harbach faces the school that he led to two state championships. There are no Berks County teams in Class 2A or Class A.
