McKoy Commits to Colgate

Berks Catholic head coach Snip Esterly calls Kingston McKoy “the whole package.” The 6’3 senior guard is a standout on and off the court. He finished his junior year with a lofty 4.2 GPA. McKoy received interest from several Patriot League schools including Loyola and Boston. On Wednesday, he announced his commitment to Colgate.

McKoy, who’s also an elite defensive player, averaged 21.5 points per game last season. He knocked down a team-high 63 three-pointers, and reached 1,000 career points in the state quarterfinals against Sharon. “Kingston could be the best player I’ve ever had. I’m talking all phases…he’s got it all,” said Esterly. That’s a big statement considering that Esterly has coached numerous star players over 36 years. The list includes Joe Linderman, Alex Franklin, Donovon Jack, and Nana Foulland.

McKoy is a two-time All-State selection. He was voted to the first team in Class 4A this past season. “His work ethic is second to none, great leadership, and his teammates love him,” emphasized Esterly. McKoy led the Saints to a (25-6) record. They won the District 3-4A championship over Eastern York. McKoy erupted for 29 points in that 67-44 rout at the Giant Center in Hershey. Berks Catholic reached the PIAA-4A Final for the first time before falling to Devon Prep 55-39.

Colgate ended up (14-19, 10-8) during the 2024-25 campaign. The Raiders were (25-10, 16-2) two seasons ago. The university in Hamilton, New York is known for its outstanding academic reputation.
