District 3 Basketball Finals won’t be at Giant Center

When basketball players and coaches in District 3 talk about their goals before the season, many of them mention making a trip to the Giant Center in Hershey. That dream won’t be possible in 2025-26. District 3 announced on Tuesday that the Giant Center is unavailable this season due to scheduling conflicts. Instead, the championship games will be held at high schools throughout the region. “Our communities consistently rally around student-athletes, and we’re confident the championship atmosphere will be just as exciting,” said District 3 Director of Communications Steve Navaroli. He added, “The District 3 Committee extends its gratitude to the Giant Center for many years of hosting and looks forward to returning in the future.”

There will be championship doubleheaders at two neutral locations on February 25, 26, and 27. Four games will take place each day. Specific sites will be announced once the matchups are set.

Berks Sports Report learned that Santander Arena in Reading was considered as a potential venue for the District 3 basketball championships. However, the Reading Royals have a home game on February 27.
