If you’re still playing hoops in March, it’s all about finding a way to survive and advance. Reading and Exeter were put to the test in the opening round of the PIAA boys basketball playoffs. The (20-10) Red Knights and (19-9) Eagles were able to hold off their opponents and move on in the bracket. Yadiel Cruz and Malik Osumanu scored 17 points apiece as Reading prevailed at Chester 65-63. Reece Garvin dropped a career-high 26 points in Exeter’s 67-60 victory at Upper Dublin.
