“Roberts Rankings”-Football

And then there were two. Just two weeks remain in the regular season and section championships are still up for grabs. Here are my Berks County high school football rankings. Remember that no matter where your favorite team is ranked, the sun will come out tomorrow!

After a big shake-up in my poll last week, there are no changes this time around. Does anyone want to take the #8 spot? Just throwing it out there. Exeter visits Conestoga Valley on Friday. The (6-2) Buckskins lost to Manheim Central 47-14 a week ago. Speaking of the Barons, they’re tied with the Eagles atop the Section 2 standings in the Lancaster-Lebanon League. Exeter meets Manheim Central in Week 10 at Don Thomas Stadium! Wilson is riding a 6-game winning streak. The Bulldogs travel to Lancaster on Friday to face (2-6) McCaskey. Wyomissing entertains (2-6) Octorara this Saturday afternoon at the newly dedicated Bob Wolfrum Field. The Spartans are ranked #2 in Class 3A by PennLive. Twin Valley looks to bounce back from its first setback of the season. The Raiders fell at Ephrata 52-33. Twin Valley battles (1-7) Daniel Boone this week in Elverson.

Governor Mifflin has a tough road test against Manheim Central. The Barons are #8 in Class 4A, according to PennLive. Zac Hahn became just the third Manheim Central quarterback to surpass 4,000 career passing yards. Berks Catholic is at Cocalico on Friday night. The (7-1) Eagles are averaging 312 rushing yards per game. They’re alone in first place in Section 4. Cocalico is ranked #6 in the state in Class 5A. Schuylkill Valley heads to (6-2) Annville-Cleona this week. First place is on the line in Section 5. The Panthers have won seven straight. The Dutchmen like to grind it out on the ground. They’ve only attempted 35 passes all season. Fleetwood hosts Solanco in a matchup of (3-5) squads. The Tigers hope to rebound from a 33-26 loss at Elizabethtown in the final 30 seconds.
