“Roberts Rankings”-Boys Basketball

Here are my final Berks County high school boys basketball rankings for the 2021-‘22 season. Thanks to all of the players, coaches, and athletic directors for their help with my coverage. Remember that no matter where your favorite team is ranked, the sun will come out tomorrow!

Reading won the Berks Conference and District 3-6A championships. The Red Knights went wire to wire as the #1 team in my poll. Berks Catholic captured the District 3-4A title. It’s the Saints’ fourth district championship in eleven years. Three of their five losses came against Reading. Muhlenberg ran away with the Division 2 crown in the Berks Conference. Matt Flowers was voted Berks County Coach of the Year in his first season with the Muhls. Exeter went from (3-14) a season ago to reaching the PIAA playoffs. This was the Eagles’ first appearance in the state tournament since 1999. Wilson took a lot of punches to the gut this year. Five of the Bulldogs’ losses were by four points or less. Their bid to qualify for the state playoffs ended on a 3-pointer by Cumberland Valley with one second left. Gov. Mifflin barely missed out on the county playoffs, despite winning four of its last five games. Antietam finished as a District 3 runner-up for the third time since 2019. The Mounts did win the Division 4 title in the Berks Conference. Tulpehocken made it to the PIAA tournament for the first time since 2007. The Trojans ended up in third place in District 3-3A.
