Diohnny Ruiz has been a fixture on Hawk Hill. The 5’11, 185-pound senior is a three-year starter for Hamburg. He led the Hawks in rushing last season with 538 yards in six games. Ruiz averaged more than eight yards per carry! He was named a second team All-County RB, LB, and kick returner. Ruiz, who’s also a very good rugby player, opened this year with 109 yards and 2TD on just five carries vs. York County School of Technology. He added a 64-yard TD catch. Ruiz said keep an eye on his younger brother, Derek, who starts at CB. Diohnny talked about what it would mean to qualify for the District 3 playoffs.
