Richmond – Berks Sports Report https://berkssportsreport.com Paul Roberts Sun, 21 Nov 2021 04:00:24 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.7.1 Aiden Mack-Wyomissing https://berkssportsreport.com/aiden-mack-wyomissing-3/ Sat, 20 Nov 2021 22:51:00 +0000 https://berkssportsreport.com/?p=2089 When you run the Wing-T offense, the ball isn’t going to be in the air very much. However, the Spartans know that they have a reliable target in tight end Aiden Mack. The 6’4, 220-pound senior is committed to Richmond. Mack had two catches for 66 yards and a touchdown in Wyomissing’s 55-14 rout of (11-2) Boiling Springs in the District 3-3A championship. Mack described his 24-yard TD grab which put the (13-0) Spartans up 49-14 late in the third quarter. It came on a play that Mack loves to run. Wyomissing ran for 430 yards and scored touchdowns on eight of its last nine possessions. Mack gave credit to the entire offensive line including 6’4, 310-pound junior Jven Williams who has numerous Division I offers. Mack said Ben Zechman has done a great job in his first year as the starting quarterback. The 6’3 junior was 4-6 for 90 yards and 2TD with an interception. The Spartans earned their tenth District 3 title and pulled off a three-peat. They’re (38-18) all-time in the District 3 playoffs. Mack talked about why the Wyomissing football program continues to thrive. He mentioned that head coach Bob Wolfrum is a man of few words. Wolfrum has won 335 games over 35 seasons. He guided the Spartans to the 2012 state championship. Wyomissing will meet Scranton Prep in the state quarterfinals next week. Mack knows that they’ll be facing a really talented running back in London Montgomery. He has 2,360 rushing yards this year. Montgomery piled up 200 yards on 32 carries in the District 2 Final vs. Wyoming Area.

Aiden Mack-Wyomissing https://berkssportsreport.com/aiden-mack-wyomissing-2/ Sat, 23 Oct 2021 17:54:00 +0000 https://berkssportsreport.com/?p=1902 Aiden Mack caught his first touchdown pass of the season in a 49-0 victory over Schuylkill Valley. The 6’4, 220-pound TE only has five receptions this year, but Mack understands that it’s simply part of playing in a Wing-T offense. He told me about the play that the Spartans called on his 5-yard TD, and how it has worked very well for him in the past. Mack is a devastating blocker and a versatile DE. The Spartans’ defense held the Panthers to 73 total yards and just 54 on the ground. I asked Mack about junior RB Drew Eisenhower who ran for 142 yards and a TD on four carries against Schuylkill Valley. Mack responded, “He’s going to be a stud.” Mack discussed his relationship with junior QB Ben Zechman. We also talked about next Saturday’s matchup vs. (7-2) Conrad Weiser. The Section 2 championship in the Berks Football League will be on the line! Mack knows that the Scouts have some elite offensive weapons. Plus, we spent some time on the importance of sportsmanship which is something that the Wyomissing coaches stress. The Spartans are (9-0) and ranked #3 in the state in Class 3A.

Aiden Mack-Wyomissing https://berkssportsreport.com/aiden-mack-wyomissing/ Sat, 14 Aug 2021 18:00:00 +0000 https://berkssportsreport.com/?p=290 Wyomissing lost seven all-state players from its District 3 championship team last year. Aiden Mack remains very confident about the 2021 version of the Spartans. The standout tight end is committed to Richmond. He told me why the Spiders’ program is a great fit for him. Mack’s tremendous blocking ability helped Wyomissing average nearly 45 points per game last season. You’ll find out that Mack also has a good sense of humor when he chats about what he likes to do off of the football field.
