I’ve already seen the top eight teams in my poll in person. My preseason rankings proved to be very accurate. In fact, there’s only one small change in this week’s poll. Wilson and Reading traded places after the Bulldogs won 52-44 at the Geigle Complex.

Berks Catholic is still holding down the top spot. The Saints have double digit wins over Muhlenberg and Wilson. Kingston McKoy has improved his strength and perimeter shooting from a season ago. The Colgate commit is averaging 21.6 ppg. He dropped a career-high 40 points on the Muhls in a 69-55 victory last Friday. Berks Catholic visits Reading on Monday.

Muhlenberg earned a quality road victory by defeating the Red Knights 71-68 two weeks ago. The Muhls rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit. Head coach Matt Flowers has a balanced attack. Eli Hemmings, “Coco” Malave, and LJ Armstrong are each averaging between 12-15 points.

Wilson is riding a five-game winning streak. The Bulldogs are gaining valuable experience and will continue to improve as the season progresses. Head coach Matt Coldren is playing ten guys every night, including four sophomores. Wilson will rely on its defense. The Bulldogs have allowed 44 points or less in six consecutive contests.

Reading snapped a three-game losing streak with an impressive 72-51 rout of Exeter on Monday. Jostin DeCastro, a 6’3 junior, is putting up 21.7 ppg. While the Red Knights may lack depth and 3-point shooting, they’re dangerous as always in transition. Keep in mind, four starters will be returning next year.

The good news for Exeter is that Aidan Dauble is back from injury. The bad news in Reiffton is that Dylan Donate remains out with a calf strain. Donate scored 57 points and hit 10 triples in the Eagles’ first three games. Exeter has won six of its eight matchups despite only having Dauble in the lineup twice.

Gov. Mifflin’s record is deceiving. The Mustangs have played a very challenging early season schedule. They’ve squared off with Berks Catholic, Muhlenberg, Wilson, and unbeaten West York. This is an inexperienced group in Shillington that’s still trying to find its way on the offensive end.

Wyomissing has a nice one-two punch with Dom Arguelles and Danny Fleischood. Arguelles is running the point and contributing nearly 20 points a night. Fleischood uses his strength and athleticism to get buckets on multiple levels. The 6’1, 190-pound senior is averaging 14.3 ppg. The Spartans came away with a hard-fought 56-48 victory at Schuylkill Valley earlier this month.

Without further ado, here are the “Roberts Rankings” for the Berks Conference. Remember that no matter where your favorite team is ranked, the sun will come out tomorrow!

“The Great 8”

1.Berks Catholic (6-1)

2.Muhlenberg (7-2)

3.Wilson (6-2)

4.Reading (4-3)

5.Exeter (6-2)

6.Gov. Mifflin (3-5)

7.Wyomissing (5-2)

8.Schuylkill Valley (5-5)

Justice Hardy transfers to Wilson https://berkssportsreport.com/justice-hardy-transfers-to-wilson/ Tue, 16 Dec 2025 20:55:58 +0000 https://berkssportsreport.com/?p=5305 Justice Hardy has been making highlight-reel plays at Wyomissing for the past three seasons. The standout RB/DB is taking his talents from Bob Wolfrum Field to John Gurski Stadium. Hardy confirmed to Paul Roberts that he enrolled at Wilson this week. He expects to start taking classes there in a few days.

It didn’t take long to see why Hardy was so highly touted entering high school. He averaged 8.6 yards per carry and scored twelve touchdowns as a freshman. His presence was felt on defense as well with four interceptions. As a sophomore, Hardy was selected to the All-State team in Class 4A.

The 5’10, 190-pound junior ran for a team-high 979 yards and 15 TD this fall. He averaged a staggering 10.8 yards per carry. Hardy also led the Spartans with 12 catches for 127 yards and four scores. He was recently named the Defensive Back of the Year in Section 4 of the Lancaster-Lebanon League. Hardy made 40 tackles and three interceptions while forcing four fumbles this season.

Wyomissing reached the District 3-4A semifinals before dropping a nailbiter at top-seeded Susquehanna Township 37-35. Hardy ran for 156 yards and 2 TD on 17 carries in that game. He added a touchdown reception as the Spartans finished (10-2).

Hardy holds Division I offers from Temple, Liberty, Rice, and Kent State. He’s going from one outstanding program to another. Wyomissing has gone (81-11) over the past seven years. The Spartans captured a state championship in 2012 to go along with twelve District 3 titles. Meanwhile, Wilson currently owns the state record with 50 consecutive winning seasons. The Bulldogs have compiled 620 all-time victories.

“Roberts Rankings”-Boys Basketball https://berkssportsreport.com/roberts-rankings-boys-basketball-18/ Fri, 28 Nov 2025 19:42:38 +0000 https://berkssportsreport.com/?p=5272 Basketball is back! I was fortunate enough to cover 66 high school games last season. I’m looking forward to another fun year of hoops. Ten boys teams from the BCIAA qualified for the District 3 playoffs last winter and five of them advanced to the PIAA tournament. Berks Catholic made it all the way to the Class 4A state championship before falling to Devon Prep 55-39 at the Giant Center. The Saints were an easy choice for the #1 spot in my preseason poll. After Berks Catholic, there are a handful of squads in the county who I think are very evenly matched. Keep in mind that my rankings focus much more on returning players than what a team accomplished last year.

Colgate commit Kingston McKoy is a two-time All-State selection and the reigning Berks County Player of the Year. He averaged 21.5 points per game and surpassed 1,000 career points in the state quarterfinals last season. Gavin Welker, Carmelo Harper, Johnny Giesa, and Brady Altimar are all back for the Saints. They’re joined by Reading transfer Jeremiah Camara who averaged a team-high 14.3 ppg. for the Red Knights during the 2024-25 campaign. Snip Esterly enters his 37th year as a head coach with a mark of (840-228). Berks Catholic is looking for its first BCIAA title since 2018.

Muhlenberg lost its top two scorers in Shermar Killen (18.6 ppg.) and Jayden Kantner (12.3 ppg.), but the Muhls still have plenty of experience. They should also have a chip on their shoulder after missing out on the Berks County playoffs and losing in the first round of the District 3 tournament. If Eli Hemmings can take the next step, they will have a dangerous team in Laureldale. The junior guard provided 9.4 ppg. last year. Mike Miller, LJ Armstrong, and Jadin Perez are united with Reading transfer Nelson “Coco” Malave.

Speaking of the Red Knights, Rick Perez has returned to the “Castle on the Hill.” After spending two seasons as an assistant under Matt Flowers at Muhlenberg, Perez is taking over for Francis Camara at Reading. Over a dozen years, Perez guided the Red Knights to three state titles. His 281 victories are a school record. Perez has a nice backcourt to work with in senior point guard Weshly Rosario and Jostin DeCastro. Rosario was an All-County pick last winter and DeCastro poured in 13 ppg. as a sophomore. Cameron “Bron Bron” Jones and Javon Merriweather are a pair of sophomore guards to keep an eye on. Jeremiah Camara, “Coco” Malave, and 6’9 senior Blake Adams are no longer with the program, but it’s never wise to count out Reading. In addition to their three state crowns, the Red Knights have claimed 24 District 3 championships, 25 BCIAA titles, and 20 Central Penn League trophies.

Wilson has cut down the nets at Santander Arena in four of the previous six seasons including two in a row. The Bulldogs, however, lost eight players and four starters to graduation. Madyx Gruber finished an outstanding career as a two-time All-County selection. He’s one of just seven players in Wilson history to hit the 1,000 point milestone. Matt Coldren begins his 25th season with an inexperienced group. Coldren is the program’s winningest coach with 432 victories. The Bulldogs aren’t wasting any time. They have a difficult opener at Central Dauphin tomorrow. The Rams were the District 3-6A runner-up last year. Correll Akings, an All-County guard, is just shy of 700 career points. His football teammate, Mike Glover, will provide the muscle in the paint at 225 pounds.

Exeter was the District 3-5A runner-up a season ago. The Eagles have made four straight trips to the state playoffs. Once again, the basketball team will have a strong football vibe to it. Aidan Dauble, Jayden Ware, and Braylon Reinert are returning starters for third-year head coach Jeff VanGorder. Dauble averaged 16 points last winter and knocked down 42 triples. Sharpshooter Brady Murray graduated after connecting 73 times from beyond the arc. Dylan Donate and Michael Fisher will have an increased role for the up-tempo Eagles this season.

In his first year at the helm, Garrett Etzel led Gov. Mifflin to 20 wins and its first appearance in the PIAA tournament. That was a senior-heavy club. Matt Koehler (14 ppg.), Andrew Galantuomo (11.5 ppg.), and Jahmair Johnson (11 ppg.) have moved on. Ian Fleming, a defensive specialist, is the lone returning starter. There is good news in Shillington with the return of Lebron Leaf. The talented quarterback missed the entire 2024-25 basketball season due to an injury that was suffered on the gridiron. Leaf is definitely a player to watch who also provides tremendous leadership skills off the court.

Konlan Krick steered Wyomissing to 15 wins and the BCIAA and District 3 playoffs in his first year as head coach. The Spartans’ top two scorers are back in Danny Fleischood (13.7 ppg.) and Dom Arguelles (12.4 ppg.). They’ll be battling again with Schuylkill Valley in Division 3. The Panthers have to replace their top three scorers in Cooper Hohenadel (14.6 ppg.), Luke Spotts (11 ppg.), and Kowen Gerner (11 ppg.). Head coach Taylor Grim will be counting on Logan Cammauf and Derek Grim, who both started last season, along with Ervin Ortiz.

Antietam captured the Division 4 title last year and brings back AJ Scheifley. The senior is just short of 900 career points. He averaged 16.2 ppg. a season ago with 40 three-pointers. Conrad Weiser went (12-12) in Joey Negron’s first year as head coach. The Scouts qualified for the District 3-5A tournament. There will be a lot of new faces on the floor in Robesonia this winter. Conrad Weiser lost its top six scorers to graduation including Donovan Gingrich, Brady McKee, and Gavin Rapp. They all averaged double figures last season. Gingrich (15.7 ppg.) and McKee drilled 103 combined triples.

Without further ado, here is my preseason poll for the Berks Basketball Conference. The records listed below are from last year. Remember that no matter where your favorite team is ranked, the sun will come out tomorrow!

1.Berks Catholic (25-6)

2.Muhlenberg (15-8)

As we enter Week 14 of the high school football season, the Raiders are the last team standing from Berks County. Wilson, Exeter, and Wyomissing got knocked out in the District 3 semifinals. The Spartans fell at Susquehanna Township 37-35 in a heartbreaker that came down to the final play. Meanwhile, Berks Catholic was eliminated by Trinity 17-0 in the District 3-3A Championship.

Twin Valley left second-seeded West York with a 45-14 victory. Drew Engle ran for 250 yards and four touchdowns. He’s now the Raiders’ all-time rushing leader with 3,690 yards. While we’re discussing records, Exeter’s Leo Brown became Berks County’s single-season rushing leader with 2,444 yards. He surpassed David Gilmore’s mark of 2,403 yards which was set at Central Catholic in 1983. Back to Twin Valley, the third-seeded Raiders battle #1 seed Susquehanna Township for the District 3-4A crown. They square off at 7pm on Friday at ELCO. Both teams are (12-0) and searching for their first District title.

Without further ado, here is my new poll for Berks County high school football. Remember that no matter where your favorite team is ranked, the sun will come out tomorrow!

“Roberts Rankings”-Football https://berkssportsreport.com/roberts-rankings-football-76/ Mon, 10 Nov 2025 22:57:15 +0000 https://berkssportsreport.com/?p=5245 Berks County football teams made a statement last week by going (5-0) with four double digit wins. Twin Valley and Wyomissing outscored their opponents 78-21 in the District 3-4A quarterfinals. Berks Catholic crushed Bermudian Springs 37-6 in the District 3-3A semifinals. However, the competition is about to get a lot tougher. You don’t see any cupcakes when Week 13 rolls around in Pennsylvania high school football. I’ll tell you about some of the top players to watch this Friday night.

#3 seed Twin Valley travels to #2 seed West York. The Raiders have reached the District 3 semifinals for the fourth consecutive year. The (10-1) Bulldogs are making their 18th appearance in the District 3 tournament. They’ve won three championships with the most recent title coming in 2008. Jensen Ferber has thrown for 2,408 yards and 29 touchdowns this season. The 6’1, 176-pound sophomore is completing 62% of his passes. West York’s only loss came in Week 8 against undefeated New Oxford.

#4 seed Wilson visits #1 seed Central York in the District 3-6A semifinals. The Bulldogs knocked off the Panthers 28-20 in this round last year. Old Dominion commit Brooklyn Nace is putting up eye-popping numbers. The 6’3, 195-pound senior has passed for 2,513 yards while completing 78% of his attempts. Nace has tossed 34 touchdowns and just one interception! His top target is Kent State commit Brendyn Smith. The senior receiver has 70 receptions for 1,116 yards and 21 TD. Legend Johnson provides Central York with balance on offense. The 6’1, 195-pound junior has 1,094 rushing yards and 19 TD. Johnson is averaging 8.5 yards per carry. The (10-1) Panthers are in the District 3 tournament for the 19th time. Their lone championship was in 2020.

#4 seed Wyomissing makes the trip to top-seeded Susquehanna Township in the District 3-4A semifinals on Friday. The (11-0) Indians are led by Torin “TD” Evans. The Marist commit has 32 touchdowns through the air and a dozen more on the ground. The 6’, 175-pound senior has 2,429 passing yards and 773 rushing yards. Evans has completed 69% of his attempts with only 3 INT. Jarrett Kern, a 6’2 senior, has reeled in 39 catches for 652 yards and eight scores. Susquehanna Township qualified for the District 3 bracket for the 19th time. The Indians are searching for their first title. The Spartans have claimed the crown on twelve occasions.

#7 seed Exeter is on the road versus #3 seed Bishop McDevitt in the District 3-5A semifinals. These squads squared off in the final a season ago with the Crusaders prevailing 48-14. Bishop McDevitt earned its 18th District 3 championship and 4th in a row. The (9-2) Crusaders have won nine straight games since falling to Harrisburg 29-21. Bishop McDevitt has a loaded backfield that includes Eastern Michigan commit Nazir Jones-Davis, sophomore Jerome Larue, and Maurice Barnes. Larue has already received offers from Tennessee, Baylor, Indiana, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, and Syracuse. Barnes is a force on defense with more than 250 career tackles. The 6’2, 215-pound linebacker has several offers including Penn State, Pittsburgh, Michigan, and Notre Dame. Tyler Reinhart controls the secondary with a team-high five interceptions. He’s committed to Monmouth. Liam Fuller, a 6’6 senior tight end, is headed to UConn. Sebastian Williams has taken over at quarterback for Stone Saunders. The 6’1, 190-pound junior has completed 70% of his attempts for 1,502 yards and 14 TD. The Crusaders are a staggering (70-9) all-time in the District 3 playoffs. The Eagles, who won it all in 2021, are (15-14).

#1 seed Berks Catholic battles #3 seed Trinity in the District 3-3A championship at ELCO. The Saints’ winning streak stands at eight. The (9-3) Shamrocks have caught fire after dropping their first two contests. Their leading rusher and tackler is 230-pound sophomore Brandon Harris. Senior quarterback Mason Boyer has two big targets in wide receiver Maddox Jarzynski (6’2, 210) and tight end Marcus Yeager (6’4, 225). Jarzynski erupted for 3 TD receptions and a pick-6 in the first half last week against Annville-Cleona. He has 1,000 receiving yards this fall. Yeager, a Richmond commit, leads Trinity in sacks and tackles for loss. The Shamrocks are going for their fourth title, while the Saints are looking for their fifth. Berks Catholic has an overall mark of (21-6) in the District 3 tournament.

Without further ado, here are my Berks County high school football rankings. There aren’t any changes in the poll this week. Remember that no matter where your favorite team is ranked, the sun will come out tomorrow!

Muhlenberg and Schuylkill Valley saw their seasons come to an end in the District 3 playoffs. The Muhls doubled their win total from a year ago. Boyertown also made big strides this fall. The Bears reached the District 1 tournament for just the third time in school history after going (2-8) in 2024. Five local teams are still alive in Week 12.

Undefeated Twin Valley meets #6 seed West Perry in Elverson on Friday. The (8-2) Mustangs are making their ninth appearance in District’s with an overall record of (6-8).

Wilson takes on #5 seed York High this week at John Gurski Stadium. The Bulldogs and (6-3) Bearcats have a few common opponents. York beat Hempfield 22-16 in overtime before falling to Manheim Township 43-34. Bearcats’ running back Shavane Anderson is committed to Syracuse. The 6’1, 200-pound senior has 1,211 rushing yards and 21 combined touchdowns in nine games.

Wyomissing battles #5 seed Lampeter-Strasburg on Saturday at 1pm at Bob Wolfrum Field. The (7-3) Pioneers got blown out by the Spartans 46-7 in their regular season finale. This is the 20th trip to the District 3 playoffs for L-S. They’re (26-15) all-time with four championships, including last year’s 30-27 overtime thriller against Wyomissing.

Exeter has a rematch of its own this week. The Eagles travel to #2 seed Conestoga Valley on Friday. The (10-0) Buckskins came back to stun Exeter 21-17 in Week 9. These teams squared off in the District 3-5A semifinals last fall with the Eagles soaring past Conestoga Valley 48-14. The Buckskins are making their 14th appearance in the District 3 bracket. Their lone title came in 1991. Exeter captured its first District crown in 2021.

Top-seeded Berks Catholic hosts #4 Bermudian Springs this week. The Saints and Eagles are both riding seven-game winning streaks. Bermudian Springs qualified for District’s for the 22nd time this year. The Eagles are (18-17) with four championships. They knocked off Berks Catholic 42-25 in the semifinals last season, and then took down Trinity 34-30 in the final.

Gov. Mifflin ended its 2025 campaign on the right foot. The Mustangs won 51-14 at Pocono Mountain West in the Eastern Conference 5A/6A Championship.

There are no changes in my poll this week. Remember that no matter where your favorite team is ranked, the sun will come out tomorrow!

“The Great 8”

1.Twin Valley (10-0)

2.Wilson (8-2)

3.Wyomissing (9-1)

4.Exeter (9-2)

The Bulldogs came up short against Manheim Township 20-14 for the Section 1 championship in the Lancaster-Lebanon League. Wilson was hurt by eleven penalties for 112 yards and four turnovers. The Bulldogs have a bye in the District 3-6A playoffs so there’s time to work on fundamentals and refocus. They’re one of seven teams from Berks County that qualified for the District 3 tournament.

Twin Valley made history this fall by going undefeated in the regular season for the first time in the program’s 29-year history. The Raiders captured the Section 4 title in the L-L League and outscored their opponents by a staggering margin of 540-80!

Wyomissing hammered Lampeter-Strasburg 46-7 in a rematch of last year’s epic District 3-4A Championship. The Spartans ran for 475 yards on Friday. Wyomissing and L-S will square off again in the District 3 quarterfinals on Saturday, November 8th at 1pm.

Exeter takes on Lower Dauphin this Friday night in Reiffton. The seventh-seeded Eagles have reached the District 3 Final three times in the past four seasons. If they win their first round game, the Eagles will get another shot at Conestoga Valley in the quarterfinals. The (10-0) Buckskins are the #2 seed in Class 5A.

Muhlenberg doubled its win total from last year. The ninth-seeded Muhls travel to Spring Grove on Friday. Muhlenberg is making its first appearance in the District 3 playoffs since 2013.

Berks Catholic earned the Section 5 crown in the L-L League with a 14-7 overtime victory against Annville-Cleona. The Saints and the Dutchmen are the top two seeds in the District 3-3A bracket. They both get a bye this week.

Boyertown improved by four wins this season under Jami Sands. The Wilson graduate led the Bears to a 49-7 rout of Phoenixville in Week 10. Boyertown goes to second-seeded North Penn this Friday in the opening round of the District 1-6A tournament.

Gov. Mifflin missed out on District’s, but the Mustangs will be playing in the postseason. They make the trip to Pocono Mountain West on Friday for the Eastern Conference 5A/6A Championship. Kickoff is scheduled for 5pm.

Section championships will be decided in the Lancaster-Lebanon League on Friday. Six of the top seven teams in my poll won last week. Exeter lost a nailbiter at Conestoga Valley 21-17. It would be fun to see the Eagles and Buckskins square off again in the District 3 playoffs.

I’ll be in West Lawn on Friday night to see Wilson battle Manheim Township for the Section 1 title. The Bulldogs and Blue Streaks are both (8-1, 5-0). Wilson took down Manheim Township 34-16 a season ago. The Bulldogs are going for their 31st section crown. Nobody has won more in the L-L League.

Twin Valley takes on Daniel Boone in Elverson on Friday. The Raiders can wrap up the Section 4 championship with a victory. The Blazers are coming off their first win of the year.

Wyomissing switched spots with Exeter in my rankings this week. The Spartans travel to Lampeter-Strasburg on Friday. The (7-2) Pioneers were without quarterback Asher Jones in last week’s 42-7 loss at Twin Valley. L-S had no answer for Drew Engle who ran for 185 yards and 6 TD on 25 carries.

Exeter meets Elizabethtown at Don Thomas Stadium on Friday. The Eagles try to put a halt to their two-game slide. The (5-4) Bears knocked off Gov. Mifflin 34-16 last week.

Muhlenberg and Conestoga Valley go at it on Friday in Laureldale. The (9-0) Buckskins will clinch the Section 2 title with a win. If the Muhls come out on top, there could be a three-way tie for first place with Exeter.

Berks Catholic hosts Annville-Cleona on Friday for the Section 5 crown. The (8-1) Dutchmen are riding a six-game winning streak. Their lone loss came at the hands of Littlestown in Week 3.

Boyertown is home this week against Phoenixville. The Phantoms are (3-6) this season.

Gov. Mifflin sits at #12 in the District 3-6A power ratings. The top 10 teams qualify for the playoffs. The Mustangs face Ephrata on Friday in Shillington. The (5-4) Mounts had lost three games in a row before blowing out Lebanon 57-12 last week.

“The Great 8”

1.Wilson (8-1)

2.Twin Valley (9-0)

3.Wyomissing (8-1)

4.Exeter (7-2)

5.Muhlenberg (8-1)

6.Berks Catholic (7-2)

7.Boyertown (5-4)

8.Gov. Mifflin (3-6)

Exeter fell at Hempfield 30-28 in a nailbiter and Wyomissing got thumped at home by Twin Valley 28-6. The question now becomes who takes over the top spot in my poll. You could make a good case for Wilson and Twin Valley which makes this fun. It gives fans something to talk about during the week, but doesn’t signal the coming of the apocalypse. The Raiders are still undefeated. However, the Bulldogs have a higher District 3 power rating and opponents’ winning percentage. Always remember that no matter where your favorite team is ranked, the sun will come out tomorrow!

Wilson takes on winless McCaskey on Friday. That game will be held at Lancaster Catholic at 7pm. Mason Young threw 3TD passes and ran for another in a 42-7 rout of Penn Manor. Young is completing 67% of his attempts for 1,536 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Twin Valley battles Lampeter-Strasburg in Elverson this week. First place is on the line in Section 4 of the Lancaster-Lebanon League. The (7-1, 5-0) Pioneers have won six in a row. Their lone loss was at Warwick in Week 2.

Exeter travels to Conestoga Valley on Friday night. The winner will claim sole possession of first place in Section 2. The (8-0, 4-0) Buckskins are led by Sawyer Esbenshade. He’s thrown for 1,722 yards with 24 TD and just 3 INT.

Wyomissing entertains Octorara on Saturday at 1:30pm at Bob Wolfrum Field. The Braves have split their eight contests.

Muhlenberg squares off with Academy Park on Friday in Laureldale. The (4-4) Knights have faced some tough opponents including Chester and West Chester East.

Berks Catholic heads north to “Hawk Hill.” Hamburg is (2-6) after coming up short 31-13 in the Frost Bowl at Schuylkill Valley. The Saints are tied atop Section 5 with Annville-Cleona.

Boyertown looks to bounce back from a 28-0 loss at Spring-Ford. The Bears are on the road this week against Norristown. The Eagles sit at (2-6).

Gov. Mifflin is at Elizabethtown on Friday. The (4-4) Bears have dropped three of their last four games.

Without further ado, here is the new poll. Wilson and Twin Valley moved up two spots this week. Exeter and Wyomissing slid two positions.

“The Great 8”

1.Wilson (7-1)

2.Twin Valley (8-0)

3.Exeter (7-1)

“Roberts Rankings”-Football https://berkssportsreport.com/roberts-rankings-football-71/ Mon, 06 Oct 2025 19:01:03 +0000 https://berkssportsreport.com/?p=5167 The top four teams in my poll all won last week. Exeter, Wyomissing, and Twin Valley remain undefeated. The Eagles handed Muhlenberg its first loss. The Spartans and the Raiders square off this Saturday at Bob Wolfrum Field. That’s one of three games that I’ll be covering this week.

Boyertown has made a lot of progress in Jami Sands’ second season as head coach. The Bears picked up a big win over Perkiomen Valley before falling to Owen J. Roberts 28-13 on Friday. That was the 900th football game in Boyertown’s history. The Bears travel to Spring-Ford this Saturday at 2pm.

Conrad Weiser dropped out of my rankings. The (4-3) Scouts have lost three in a row with another tough test on the horizon. Conrad Weiser visits the (6-1) Warwick Warriors on Friday.

Exeter is on the road again this week. The Eagles soar into Hempfield. Exeter has outscored its opponents 307-50. The (3-4) Black Knights were defeated by Wilson 38-28 last Friday.

Wyomissing, Twin Valley, and Lampeter-Strasburg are tied atop Section 4 of the Lancaster-Lebanon League. The Raiders have put up 399 points while allowing just 60. They battle the Spartans at 1:30pm on Saturday. Both teams are ranked in the top 5 in the state by PennLive in Class 4A.

Wilson is still trying to iron out some things. The Bulldogs trailed 14-7 at halftime to Hempfield last week. Wilson meets Penn Manor on Friday at John Gurski Stadium. The Comets are (2-5).

Muhlenberg looks to bounce back on Friday when Ephrata comes to Laureldale. The (4-3) Mounts have lost three of their last four games.

Berks Catholic hosts Columbia this Thursday at 7pm. The Saints have won five of their last six. The Crimson Tide sunk to (3-4) following a 17-14 defeat at the hands of Schuylkill Valley.

Gov. Mifflin finished a brutal stretch that included Exeter, Muhlenberg, Wilson, and Conestoga Valley. The Mustangs take on Lebanon this week in Shillington. The Cedars’ losing streak stands at 49 consecutive games.

Without further ado, here are the new “Roberts Rankings.” Remember that no matter where your favorite team is ranked, the sun will come out tomorrow!
