The two remaining quarterfinals will now be held on Saturday at FirstEnergy Stadium. The Exeter and Fleetwood game will resume at 3pm. They’re scoreless in the second inning. The Wilson and Berks Catholic matchup will follow. They’re scoreless in the first inning.

The Berks League semifinals will take place on Monday, May 12th at FirstEnergy Stadium. The first game will begin at 3:30pm. The championship has been moved to Owls Field in West Lawn on Tuesday, May 13th. First pitch is currently scheduled for 7pm. However, that time could change due to the weather.

Only a trio of girls basketball teams from Berks County have advanced to the state playoffs. Congratulations to Wyomissing on winning its third consecutive District 3-4A championship on Friday at the Giant Center in Hershey. The (23-4) Spartans held off Lancaster Catholic 26-24. Wilson and Conrad Weiser also qualified for the PIAA tournament. Here are their first round matchups.

The Big School game kicks off at 5pm. It features players from high schools in Class 4A-6A. Here are the selections from Berks County.

The PSFCA East/West Small School All-Star Game will begin at noon on May 18th. Tight end Luke Spotts from Schuylkill Valley was the only Berks County player chosen for that game.

You can read the full game story on the homepage. The (11-1) Bulldogs face fourth-seeded Harrisburg on Saturday at Exeter for the championship. Kickoff is at 1pm.

Exeter rolled over Conestoga Valley 48-14 in the District 3-5A semifinals. The (12-1) Eagles avenged a 28-27 loss to the Buckskins in Week 9. Jayden Zandier ran for 270 yards and four touchdowns on 27 carries in the rematch. Conestoga Valley suffered its first loss of the year. The Buckskins were ranked #9 in the state in Class 5A by PennLive. Zandier has a school record 2,082 rushing yards this season! Exeter meets sixth-seeded Bishop McDevitt in Friday’s championship game at ELCO.

Twin Valley lost at Lampeter-Strasburg 31-13 in the District 3-4A semifinals. Dominic Brown rumbled for 183 yards and a score on 29 carries. The top-seeded Pioneers improved to (12-0). They’re ranked #3 in the state in Class 4A by PennLive. The Raiders finished (9-3). They reached the District 3 semifinals for the third year in a row.

Wyomissing cruised past West York 35-7 on Saturday afternoon at Bob Wolfrum Field. The second-seeded Spartans are (22-0) all-time in home playoff games! Danny Fleischood ran for 132 yards and 2 TD on just seven carries. He also had a 36-yard touchdown catch. Derek Macrina added 80 rushing yards and a score. Wyomissing played without standout sophomore Justice Hardy for the second straight game. The (10-2) Spartans battle Lampeter-Strasburg in the District 3-4A championship. They will square off at Warwick on Friday at 7pm.
