PJ Myers of Manheim Township rumbled for 187 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries. The Blue Streaks beat Neshaminy 35-14.

Elizabethtown junior Prince Wratto racked up 325 yards and 4 TD on 16 carries against Manheim Central. He went over 300 yards in the first half.

Twin Valley sophomore Gavan Foster passed for 182 yards and a score in a 17-13 victory over Susquehanna Township.

Northern Lebanon running back Brady Ryan had 208 yards and 3 TD on 25 carries. He added 56 receiving yards and another score. The senior safety was a force on defense as well with eleven tackles and a sack.

Kareem Nichols from Columbia finished with ten catches for 122 yards. He also threw a touchdown pass and made ten tackles.

Here are the Linemen of the Week from the L-L League:

Manheim Township senior Jabari Destine had three tackles for loss and a sack. He also did a great job blocking from his tight end position.

Ephrata’s Ian Ellis was the anchor of an offense that averaged five yards per carry. The senior C/DE provided 7 tackles, 4.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles.

Tyler Kreider of Solanco earned a 97% blocking grade at right tackle with seven pancake blocks. The senior defensive end contributed five solo tackles and two tackles for loss.

Conrad Weiser junior G/DE Lincoln Harting received a 93% blocking grade against a talented defensive line from Milton Hershey. Harting made three solo tackles and forced a fumble that resulted in a touchdown.

Pequea Valley senior guard Andrew Blank got a 92% blocking grade. The middle linebacker added 8 combined tackles, 3 TFL, and a pair of sacks. Blank also forced a fumble and recovered one.

Wilson looks to bounce back at Muhlenberg this Friday. The Bulldogs committed six turnovers in a 35-23 loss at Central Bucks West. As I first reported yesterday, Justice Hardy’s shoulder injury is not believed to be serious. If his rehab goes well this week, there’s a chance that Hardy could play against Muhlenberg. Keep in mind, however, that Wilson faces Manheim Township in Week 4. The Bulldogs will definitely want the two-time All-State pick ready for that key Section 1 battle.

Exeter heads south to York High this Friday. The Bearcats lost their opener to Harrisburg 40-19 before defeating Hempfield 32-21 a week ago. John Vellon is off to a great start for York. The speedy 5’8, 160-pound junior has 18 carries for 155 yards and a touchdown. Vellon also leads the team with 9 receptions for 94 yards and 2 TD.

Conrad Weiser is one position higher in my poll this week. The Scouts are preparing for another Thursday night contest. This time they’re on the road versus Eastern York. The (0-2) Golden Knights are relying heavily on sophomore quarterback Brady Cook. He’s 18-of-35 for 247 yards with 3 TD and 4 INT. Cook has a team-high 19 carries for another 176 yards and a score.

Muhlenberg got bumped up one spot after knocking off rival Reading 50-14 at Albright’s Shirk Stadium. The Muhls are taking on Wilson for the first time since 2008. The Bulldogs rolled to a 46-0 win in that District 3-4A quarterfinal.

Boyertown is back in my rankings following a 28-21 comeback victory at Gov. Mifflin. The Bears ended a 10-game losing streak to the Mustangs. Boyertown hosts Unionville this Thursday at 7pm. The Longhorns fell to Great Valley in overtime before beating Academy Park 17-8 in Week 2. Gov. Mifflin visits Hempfield this Friday. The Black Knights split their first two games.

Berks Catholic dropped out of my poll after allowing 88 points in two weeks. The (0-2) Saints have another difficult test on Friday when they host Bethlehem Catholic. Senior quarterback Axel Burkart (6’4, 210) recently committed to New Hampshire. He played quarterback, tight end, and defensive end for the Golden Hawks a season ago. As a junior, Burkart passed for 1,475 yards and 12 TD while only starting four games at quarterback. He added eight touchdowns on the ground. Bethlehem Catholic is (2-0) with wins over Delaware Valley and Allentown Central Catholic.

Maverik’s younger brother, Gavan, got Twin Valley off to a great start. Rylan Simerly recovered a fumble by Sincere Littlejohn on the opening possession. The turnover set up the Raiders at the Indians’ 37-yard line. Gavan Foster, a 6’3 sophomore, lofted a perfect pass to Brody Majeski in the right corner of the end zone. Despite excellent coverage by 5’8 junior Jachai Grannison, Majeski reeled in the football for a 31-yard score just three minutes into the game. Maverik Foster has made the transition from quarterback to running back. The switch allows him to play defense this season. “It’s awesome. I liked quarterback but not being able to play both sides of the field, I feel like I can help my team out more,” explained Maverik Foster. He threw for 1,302 yards with 17 TD and 3 INT in 2025 as Twin Valley reached the state final for the first time in program history.

The Raiders went up 14-0 on Susquehanna Township early in the second quarter. Villanova commit Lucas Myers broke off a 27-yard run which was followed by a 25-yard pass to Majeski. Maverik Foster ended the 90-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown run. The (0-2) Indians flashed their big-play ability late in the first half. Feidt, a 6’2 lefty, showed off his arm strength by firing a long pass from his own end zone down the right sideline. Sweatt III made a leaping grab and raced 65 yards for a 97-yard touchdown. The 6’, 160-pound senior receiver pulled Susquehanna Township within 14-7 with 3:09 remaining before halftime. Twin Valley took over the ensuing series at its 25-yard line. Gavan Foster found his tight end, Jayce Oliver, open for a 69-yard completion. The 6’2, 215-pound senior rumbled all the way to the 6-yard line. Ben Roswick drilled a 25-yard field goal as time expired to give the Raiders a 17-7 edge at the break.

West Virginia commit and Harrisburg transfer Rick Brown intercepted Foster at midfield to begin the second half. Brown, a 220-pound senior linebacker, had more than 100 tackles for the Cougars in each of the past two years. On fourth-and-6 at the 32-yard line, Twin Valley was penalized for roughing the passer. Moments later, Feidt hit Sweatt III down the right seam for an 18-yard touchdown pass. The extra point was missed which made it 17-13 with 6:03 to go in the third quarter. Jasani Brown, a lanky 6’4 senior safety, made an interception over the middle on the next possession. Littlejohn ripped off a 34-yard run to midfield, but the Indians’ drive stalled.

Susquehanna Township reached the Raiders’ 35-yard line with three minutes left. Feidt’s pass on fourth-and-5 fell incomplete. The Indians got the ball back one more time at their 33-yard line with 37 seconds on the clock. Sweatt III made two defenders miss and turned the completion into a 28-yard gain. He caught another ball along the left sideline for a 12-yard pickup to the 33-yard line. That led to the final heave into the end zone by Feidt. Sweatt III had a look of disbelief on his face after the official ruled him out of bounds. He made a tremendous effort to catch the ball as he fell to the ground. The official, who was standing right there, immediately signaled that the pass was incomplete.

Myers, a 220-pound senior, finished with a team-high five tackles. Oliver and Keenan Munn added four tackles apiece. “We’ve been emphasizing all week to get eleven [players] to the ball. We know they’re a fast team,” noted Maverik Foster. He also provided 54 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Myers had 50 yards on 17 carries. Twin Valley piled up 461 total yards, including 387 on the ground, in last year’s District 3-4A Championship. On Friday, the Raiders were limited to 129 yards on 39 carries. Gavan Foster was 8-of-15 for 182 yards in his second start. He threw a touchdown and two interceptions. “He’s doing amazing. He’s definitely still working into the role, got some things to learn. He had a great game,” said Maverik Foster. Majeski had a team-high five receptions for 93 yards and a score. Twin Valley has another test coming up on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Wyomissing.

The (1-1) Bulldogs fell behind 28-2 in the second quarter, but pulled within 28-23 with seven minutes left in the third period. Wilson outgained the Bucks 376-to-248, however, the Bulldogs committed six turnovers. Louisville running back commit Justice Hardy left the game in the opening quarter with an injury and didn’t return.

Monty Greer ran for 118 yards and 3 TD on 14 carries. Cole Peterson finished 13-of-20 for 234 yards and 3 INT. He connected four times with tight end Mike Glover for 82 yards. Nick Miletto rumbled for 105 yards and 3 TD, including a 46-yard score. His 2-yard touchdown made it 35-23 with 11:25 remaining. Louie Cipolla was all over the field for the (2-0) Bucks. He scored a pair of touchdowns and made three interceptions.

Spring-Ford-21, Exeter-7

The (2-0) Rams prevailed in a defensive battle at Don Thomas Stadium. Spring-Ford struck first just four minutes into the game on a 27-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Kaden Pickersgill to Rowan Harmon. The (1-1) Eagles evened things up at 7-7 thanks to a 1-yard TD run by Donovyn Alvarez with 7:34 to go in the third quarter. Harmon put the Rams back on top with an 8-yard touchdown run in the final minute of the third period. The 5’11, 190-pound junior sealed the deal late in the fourth quarter. Harmon reached the end zone again from two yards out with 1:49 on the clock.

Aidan Gerhart completed 14 of his 25 attempts for 157 yards and an interception. Tight end Braylon Reinert (6’4, 230) caught four passes for 45 yards. Spring-Ford’s defensive line was stout. Alvarez was held to 28 yards on 14 carries. Josh Jackson was limited to 29 yards on 11 touches. Sophomore Jaiheer Dasilvio had a team-high 62 yards on 5 carries. Alvarez led Exeter’s defense with nine combined tackles. Junior cornerback Brady Adams made seven stops.

Boyertown-28, Gov. Mifflin-21

The (1-1) Bears rallied from a 21-7 deficit with four minutes left in the third quarter to beat the (0-2) Mustangs in Shillington. Boyertown snapped a 10-game losing streak to Gov. Mifflin. The Bears earned their first win in the series since 1994. Boyertown accumulated 456 total yards, including 308 on the ground.

Aziyah Brown had a huge night with 247 yards on 19 carries. His touchdown runs came from 69 and 61 yards away. The Bears took the lead on a 23-yard touchdown pass from Gavin Royce to Chase Fluck with 1:27 to go. Royce was 11-of-16 for 148 yards and 2 TD. Jackson Koback reeled in seven of those passes for 113 yards and a 29-yard touchdown. Logan Hermann led Boyertown’s defense with ten total tackles.

Pat Steuer ran for 136 yards and a score on 18 touches. He ripped off a 63-yard touchdown to open the scoring with 9:48 to play in the first half. A 25-yard run by Trevor King gave the Mustangs a 13-0 advantage with ten minutes remaining in the third quarter. Sophomore quarterback Jack Miller was 16-of-28 for 159 yards with one touchdown and a pick.

Schuylkill Valley-38, Octorara-7

The (1-1) Panthers bounced back in a big way from their loss at Conrad Weiser in Week 1. Alex Aletras threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more scores. The 6’2, 185-pound senior was a perfect 7-of-7 passing for 69 yards. He used his legs for 87 yards on four carries. Sophomore receiver Will Johns made five catches for 55 yards and a touchdown. Seth Klinikowski added an 11-yard TD grab. Pamboge Sarr got 51 yards on his six carries.

Schuylkill Valley only had 22 offensive plays. Reese Wamsher gave the Panthers a boost in the kicking game. The senior drilled a 29-yard field goal to go along with five touchbacks. Wamsher also boomed a 53-yard punt.

Northern Lebanon-28, Hamburg-0

The (1-1) Hawks fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter at Fredericksburg. Brady Ryan had touchdown runs of two and thirteen yards in the opening period. Ryan hauled in a 44-yard touchdown pass from freshman quarterback Markus Miller in the fourth quarter. Christian Spencer added a 57-yard TD run with three minutes left.

Hamburg sophomore Isaac McFadden went 17-of-34 for 115 yards. His primary target, Alex Soto, ended up with eight catches for 49 yards. Eli Metzler provided five catches for 33 yards. Hamburg struggled to get the running game going against the (2-0) Vikings. Bryce Schmeck finished with 57 yards on 13 carries.

Muhlenberg-50, Reading-14

The (1-1) Muhls are keeping the “Battle of the Border” trophy. They rattled off the final 36 points on Thursday night at Albright’s Shirk Stadium. Adriel Baez was an efficient 11-of-17 for 252 yards and 4 TD. He used his legs for another score. Noel Irizarry had four receptions for 79 yards and two touchdowns. Kalib Perez chipped in with 80 yards and a touchdown on two catches. Manny Oforgaram-Edochie made the most of his nine carries. He finished with 106 yards. Ian Rodriguez wound up with 56 yards and 2 TD on seven carries. The 5’10, 190-pound junior linebacker was a force on defense as well with six tackles, two tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery. Senior defensive back Chase Zona racked up a team-high nine tackles and an interception.

Muhlenberg was in front 14-8 at halftime. The second half was delayed after a fight broke out in the stands. The (0-2) Red Knights tied it at 14-14 on a 2-yard touchdown run by sophomore quarterback Elijah Fleming with 7:48 remaining in the third quarter. There were 25 combined penalties.

Pottstown-14, Daniel Boone-8

Aaron Williams stole the show on Thursday at Birdsboro. The speedy junior caught a 79-yard touchdown pass and returned a tipped ball 46 yards for a pick 6. His interception put the Trojans on top in the second quarter. Neither team scored in the second half. Pottstown is (2-0) after going (0-10) last year.

Daniel Boone senior quarterback Dominic Stoudt was a workhorse. He carried the ball 28 times for 114 yards and a touchdown. Stoudt was just 3-of-12 for 25 yards through the air. Both teams were held under 200 total yards. The (1-1) Blazers travel to Hamburg next Friday.

Upper Perkiomen-33, Fleetwood-0

Through eight quarters, the (2-0) Indians still haven’t allowed a point. Upper Perkiomen defeated Boyertown 24-0 a week ago. The Indians limited Fleetwood to 130 total yards and 42 on the ground on Thursday. Meanwhile, Upper Perkiomen averaged 7.4 yards per carry. Grayson Sabo had two touchdown runs and a 21-yard TD toss to Aaron Maiden. Sabo has 246 passing yards and 206 rushing yards after two games. The 6’3, 225-pound senior is completing 73% of his attempts. Maiden, a 6’1 senior, is leading the receiving corps with six catches for 128 yards and three scores.

The (1-1) Tigers trailed 7-0 after a quarter and 21-0 at halftime. Chase Adams was 13-of-20 for 88 yards. He managed just 21 yards on a dozen carries. Beau Fegely was bottled up as well. His eight carries yielded 21 yards. Sophomore wide receiver Trey McKinney provided 56 yards on five receptions.

Executive Education Academy-40, Berks Catholic-21

The (0-2) Saints faced another non-league opponent with a quality quarterback. Shawntez Whitsitt accounted for four touchdowns on Thursday evening. The 6’1, 170-pound senior was 20-of-27 for 231 yards and 2 TD. He ran a dozen times for another 72 yards and two scores. The (1-1) Raptors ran 27 more plays than Berks Catholic.

Executive Education Academy built a 20-0 cushion at halftime. A 6-yard touchdown run by Whitsitt made it 32-7 in the third quarter. Dexter “Lalu” Connor made four catches for 95 yards. Ayden Ramos chipped in with 30 yards and 2 TD on 12 carries. The sophomore also had five receptions for 28 yards. The Raptors outgained the Saints 373-to-307.

Berks Catholic quarterback Kellen Bowman had an efficient game. The 6’2 freshman went 8-of-9 for 147 yards and a TD. Coy Koller caught a 51-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. He also got 13 carries for 64 yards and a score. Ryan Spatz gained 38 yards on his 11 carries with a touchdown run. Alex Reali provided a bright spot on special teams. The 215-pound junior boomed a 77-yard punt.

The Scouts improved to (2-0) despite being limited to 130 total yards and 2 yards per carry. The (0-2) Spartans had three touchdowns called back and committed several encroachment penalties. “A lot of mistakes and miscues on their part, but we talked about that in the game plan. We thought we could take advantage of some of those things and we certainly did…Discipline is a big part of the game,” explained Moyer. Milton Hershey was without junior quarterback Kamari Cooper. He was injured by a questionable tackle in a 20-18 loss to rival Hershey last week.

The Spartans and Scouts both lost fumbles on their opening drives. On Milton Hershey’s second possession, a 26-yard touchdown run by Gomes Pedro was negated by a holding penalty. Conrad Weiser junior defensive end Lincoln Harting forced a fumble early in the second quarter. Luke Walter picked up the loose ball and returned it 45 yards for the first touchdown of his career. “I saw Lincoln come in and make that big tackle, punch the ball out. I scooped it up, saw my lane and went for the touchdown. It felt great,” replied Walter. Moyer added, “That’s our turnover drill. We do that twice a week, every week in spring ball up until now. One of the stations in the turnover circuit is the scoop and score. It’s nice to see it come to fruition.” Walter, a senior linebacker, is 5’8 and 175 pounds. “As long as you work your hardest and give your full effort, that’s all that matters. You don’t have to be the biggest, the strongest, or the fastest,” emphasized Walter. The extra point was missed which made it 6-0 with 11:28 to go in the first half.

The Scouts’ defense, which includes six returning starters, came up big again midway through the second quarter. On fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line, the Spartans put sophomore Halo Allen in the shotgun. He ran to his right, but Brennon Bond and Cam Colon combined on the tackle for a 1-yard loss. After forcing Conrad Weiser to punt, it looked like Milton Hershey got on the scoreboard. However, Calvin Gumbs-Jacobs had a punt return touchdown wiped out by a block in the back with 36 seconds on the clock. Moments later, a 50-yard TD pass from Blann Harris to Gumbs-Jacobs was erased by a holding penalty.

Elijah Gibbs, a junior defensive tackle, blocked a punt and recovered the ball at the Scouts’ 40-yard line midway through the third period. Pedro broke free up the middle for a 24-yard touchdown run. The extra point was blocked which kept the game even at 6-6. A punt by Conrad Weiser running back Kole Kupper pushed the Spartans back to the 8-yard line with 8:49 left to play. That kick shifted field position in favor of the Scouts. Sophomore Kellen Stoy returned a Milton Hershey punt from midfield to the 27-yard line with 7:12 remaining. On fourth-and-1 from the 19-yard line, Kupper picked up two yards to move the chains. Conrad Weiser then took a big loss back to the 30-yard line. On third-and-22, Connor Sellars stepped up in the pocket and found Tyler Keppley down the left sideline for a pivotal 27-yard pass. That led to a fourth-and-goal opportunity from inside the 1-yard line. Sellars kept it himself for a tiebreaking score with 1:20 to go.

The Spartans didn’t go away quietly. Will Davies took a short kickoff to the 49-yard line with 1:15 left. On fourth-and-four, Harris hit Whitehead-Walker on a wide receiver screen. The 150-pound sophomore slipped a tackle and went down the left sideline to the Scouts’ 34-yard line. Harris connected with Whitehead-Walker again moments later on a deep ball down the left sideline. The pass was right on the money and Whitehead-Walker made a sliding catch for a touchdown. Milton Hershey opted to go for two points and the lead with 47 seconds remaining. They put Allen in the shotgun and he tried to run up the middle, but Bond was the first to make contact for Conrad Weiser. Kupper and Harting combined on the hit. Allen tried to throw the ball as he was being driven backward, however, his pass bounced at the 1-yard line. The Scouts’ defense had answered the call one more time. “I think it shows our toughness, our grit, and the way we stay together throughout the entire game. We never let down,” stated Walter.

Kupper, who ran for 202 yards and 4 TD against Schuylkill Valley in Week 1, was held to 62 yards on 25 carries. Conrad Weiser ran the ball 40 times for only 80 yards. They faced a talented defensive line that included John Alicia (6’4, 275), Lawrence Delarosa (5’8, 291), Kobe Brown (6’3, 225), and Gibbs (6’1, 270). Sellars was 5-of-7 for 50 yards. The 5’9, 170-pound senior ran it nine times for 14 yards and a score. Keppley provided two receptions for 39 yards.

Harting (6’2, 235) made a big impact with four tackles, a fumble recovery, and a forced fumble. Linebackers Donte Wilkins, Bond, and Walter had five tackles apiece. Walter had blood on his cheek and a cut near his eye. He finished with 52 tackles as a junior in 2025. “He’s a valuable kid all over the field. He’s a straight-A student, great character kid. He’s a team leader on and off the field. He plays so much bigger than he is. He gives you everything he’s got,” said Moyer.

Randy Guthrie of Penn Manor ran for 122 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. The senior running back also had four catches for 62 yards. He finished with 252 all-purpose yards.

Camryn Bair from Conestoga Valley went 7-of-12 for 161 yards and 3 TD. The senior quarterback added 118 yards and 2 TD on the ground. Bair, who also plays safety, made eight tackles.

Solanco’s Wesley Bard piled up 221 yards and three scores on just seven carries. The junior RB/S provided seven solo tackles and a sack.

Conrad Weiser junior running back Kole Kupper racked up 202 yards and 4 TD on 20 carries. He had four runs of over 20 yards and a 56-yard reception.

Hamburg sophomore quarterback Isaac McFadden was 12-of-17 for 256 yards and four touchdowns.

Here are the Linemen of the Week from the L-L League:

In his first varsity start, sophomore offensive tackle Gavin Flint helped Penn Manor rush for 150 yards. The Comets soared past Red Lion 33-14.

Ephrata’s Bryson Carpenter paved the way for 401 total yards, including 275 on the ground. The senior OT/DT added five tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble.

Senior guard Kendall Weaver led Cocalico to an eye-catching 373 rushing yards. The defensive end also made six tackles and 2 TFL.

Donegal defensive tackle Jordon Wood contributed four tackles, one tackle for loss, and an interception. In addition, he forced one fumble and recovered a fumble. The senior offensive tackle received a blocking grade of 85%.

Carson Arnold of Columbia earned a 90% blocking grade. The senior offensive tackle had a pair of pancake blocks.

Daniel Boone rolled over Lebanon 55-0 last week. The Blazers handed the Cedars their 53rd consecutive loss. Ruffner ran for 180 yards and four touchdowns. What’s really amazing is that he only needed six carries to put up those numbers. “I gotta give it all to my line. They played a big part in blocking for me and getting me down the field,” noted Ruffner. That offensive line is comprised of four juniors and 290-pound sophomore Dylan Beto. Beto and Jabrae Pratt (6’2, 285) are the tackles with Colt Saudarg (5’11, 270) at center. Chace Jardin and Timmy Kretzman are the guards. They’re joined by senior Tiegan Rickard, a key blocker at tight end. Daniel Boone finished with 397 yards against Lebanon, including 345 on the ground.

Ruffner certainly isn’t the biggest running back in the Lancaster-Lebanon League. The 5’6, 155-pound junior gave some advice to younger players who may be undersized. “Don’t ever stop the grind and don’t get down on yourself. You always gotta keep pushing yourself to be better,” emphasized Ruffner. Quarterback Dominic Stoudt can also carry the rock for the Blazers. The 5’10, 190-pound senior ended up with 89 yards and 2 TD on 11 carries. Stoudt was 2-of-4 for 17 yards through the air in Week 1. Jardin, a 195-pound DE, led the defense with six tackles. “He laid the hammer last game. He was running through everybody like a train,” said Ruffner.

Daniel Boone hosts Pottstown this Thursday at 7pm. The Trojans hammered Harriton 53-0 last week. Harriton has decided to suspend its season due to low participation and player safety concerns. Ruffner is optimistic about getting to (2-0). “I think we have a good chance of having another successful game. We gotta have more good blocks,” he stated.

Week 2 is unique with eight teams from Berks County playing on Thursday. Reading, Muhlenberg, Wyomissing, Berks Catholic, Conrad Weiser, Daniel Boone, Fleetwood and Kutztown are all in action on Thursday.

The top five teams in my rankings remain the same this week. Wilson has a tough task this Friday night against a four-time PIAA champion. The Bulldogs travel to Central Bucks West. The Bucks hammered Easton 36-7 in their opener. CB West has won 47 games over the previous five years.

Twin Valley meets Susquehanna Township in Elverson on Friday. This is a rematch of the District 3-4A Championship which the Raiders won 41-21. The Indians have a pair of talented linebackers who transferred from Harrisburg. West Virginia commit Rick Brown (6’1, 220) had more than 100 tackles in each of the past two seasons for the Cougars. Sophomore Titus Brown (6’, 225) is the younger brother of West Virginia freshman offensive tackle Kevin Brown.

Exeter takes on Spring-Ford this Friday at Don Thomas Stadium. The Rams are the defending Pioneer Athletic Conference champs. They knocked off Souderton 31-14 last week.

Wyomissing heads to Philadelphia on Thursday afternoon. The Spartans battle Frankford at 3:30pm. Did you know that Bob Wolfrum’s father was once the head coach at Frankford.

Berks Catholic hosts Executive Education Academy on Thursday. Make a note of the 6pm kickoff. The Raptors try to bounce back from a heartbreaking defeat. They lost to Northern Lehigh 17-14 on a last second field goal.

Conrad Weiser jumps into my poll after beating Schuylkill Valley 27-13. The Scouts square off with Milton Hershey on Thursday night in Robesonia. The Spartans fell to rival Hershey 20-18 in Week 1.

Bragging rights are on the line Thursday night at Albright’s Shirk Stadium. Muhlenberg and Reading continue their heated rivalry at 7pm. The Muhls toppled the Red Knights 48-0 last fall. Muhlenberg dropped one spot in this week’s poll after getting run over by Cocalico 40-21.

Gov. Mifflin entertains Boyertown this Friday in Shillington. The Bears fell out of my rankings following a 24-0 loss to Upper Perkiomen. Speaking of the Indians, they host Fleetwood this Thursday at 7pm. As mentioned earlier, Daniel Boone is also playing on Thursday. The (1-0) Blazers face Pottstown at 7pm. The Trojans began the season with a 53-0 rout of Harriton.

The game ended with 3:22 remaining in the third quarter. Police ordered that the stadium should be cleared after one student reported that another student was in possession of a weapon. Upon investigation, the student in question wasn’t carrying a weapon. Authorities conducted a thorough search and didn’t find any weapons in the area.

On Wilson’s second possession, Peterson found Glover over the middle for a 57-yard completion on third-and-25. Glover, a James Madison commit, was open in the middle of the end zone for a 3-yard touchdown reception with 3:46 left in the first quarter. The 6’3, 230-pound senior is a two-time All-State selection at tight end. Glover had five catches for 90 yards. Peterson attacked the middle of the field once again on the Bulldogs’ next series. He hit junior speedster Damian Greer for a 30-yard score and a 21-0 cushion with 47 seconds to go in the opener quarter. Greer won the 100-meter dash at the District 3 Championships earlier this year in 10.67 seconds.

Jaydin Vasquez made it 28-0 with a 25-yard pick 6 midway through the second quarter. Vasquez was playing linebacker in place of Matt Wyatt who was injured during last week’s scrimmage at Coatesville. Wyatt, a 215-pound junior, is expected to be back for next Friday’s highly anticipated matchup at CB West. A 1-yard touchdown run by Hardy put Wilson in front 35-0 with 1:09 remaining in the first half.

The Bulldogs started the third quarter with a 58-yard scoring drive, their longest of the evening. Peterson dumped off a short pass to Monty Greer out of the backfield and Damian’s older brother went 15 yards for a touchdown. Monty Greer provided five receptions for 66 yards. In his first varsity start, Peterson went 13-of-14 for 193 yards and 3 TD. “He did a nice job, threw the ball on time, and found the open man. I was pretty happy with him,” said Dahms. Peterson was a first team All-County lacrosse player during the spring.

Backup quarterback Jonny Challenger, a 6’1 junior, tossed an 8-yard TD pass to Brody Streeter with 3:44 to go in the third quarter. Lucas Kreider got the Mustangs on the board with a 99-yard return on the ensuing kickoff. The 5’10, 165-pound sophomore starts at receiver and cornerback. His classmate, Jack Miller, is Gov. Mifflin’s starting quarterback. Miller was 5-of-11 for 19 yards and an interception. Senior running back Pat Steuer was limited to 30 yards on 16 carries. The Mustangs averaged 1.6 yards per play and managed just four first downs. EJ Brownback made a team-high eight tackles. “He played really well. He’s got a great nose for the ball,” emphasized Dahms. Brownback, a 225-pound inside linebacker, had five tackles for loss.

Wilson improved to (43-27) all-time against its longtime rival. The Bulldogs have won five straight and 13 of the last 16 versus the Mustangs. They squared off for the first time in 1953. Despite the lopsided victory, Dahms wasn’t pleased with the performance. “Not at all…mistakes, what did we lose 40-50 yards on bad snaps. [We had] interference penalties, some breakdowns. We have a lot to clean up,” lamented Dahms.
